12FM6 tubes at Beezar!

NOTE: The 12FM6 has become scarce worldwide. It's unfortunate, but mostly due to the popularity of the MiniMAX, the Millet MAX and the original Millett Hybrid. Beezar will endeavor to keep these in stock as best we can, but the end of the line is near. Accordingly, the MiniMAX kit is no longer supplied with these tubes, but you may purchase them here separately for as long as the supply lasts.

These are high-quality, tested, NOS tubes. Manufacturers and construction is mixed, although there are quite a few of each type of construction, with most being side getter RCA, Sylvania, and Tung-Sol construction, with a few GE's as well.

The 12FM6 presents the mid-range gain in the MAX or Millett, having a basic tube gain of 10. This gain is typically a few points lower in the actual MAX or Millett circuit, and will be even lower with low impedance headphones. However, the value of 10 is given as a comparitive starting point only relative to other Millett tubes. The 12FM6 in many cases will present the ideal gain for the most headphones in a Millett or MAX.

Typically speaking, the 12FM6 has been described as a combination of the 12AE6 and 12FK6 tubes - good highs, good punch. They also happen to be the rarest of Millet-type tubes.

Each tube has been personally checked for defects, the glass cleaned, and the pins straightened. They are guaranteed to work in your MAX or Millett, or return them for replacement (shipping not included).

When purchased in pairs and when at all possible, Beezar selects Millett tubes for identical construction, regardless of the name that may be painted on the tube. Check your box's end flaps for like abbreviations - send us an e-mail if you have questions.

Get these while they're still in stock I assembled the MiniMAX kit three years ago and the 12FM6s that were included (back then, today they're no longer included in the kit) have been the most used pair for listening with a pair of Grado RS1s. The spaciousness and slam strike the perfect balance with these low impedance yet extremely lively and engaging headphones. These tubes also don't take too long to settle in terms of initially adjusting bias--about 30 minutes and they're stable. Recently the old 12FM6s started exhibiting some microphonics and for safety I ordered an extra two pairs, which arrived very quickly. Beezar offered to replace any tubes that have any microphonics--so far none have them.
